American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) has named Dan Beauchamp vice president, Global Strategic Meetings, with responsibility for the business’s strategy, growth and customer experience.
In his new role, Beauchamp will oversee new business development and the expansion of the company’s global strategic meetings footprint. He will also work with customers to increase programme adoption, optimise spend, improve attendee experiences and deliver greater return on investment.
Working across Amex GBT’s sales, account management and operations teams, he will support a coordinated approach to managing client programmes.
Beauchamp previously led the company’s Global Consulting and Venue Sourcing teams, helping customers optimise their travel and meetings programmes. During his tenure, he launched initiatives including Hotel Lobby and the Meetings & Events and Inclusive Travel practice lines.
He has been with Amex GBT for eight years, having previously held senior sales and customer-facing roles at American Express and Hogg Robinson Group, which was later acquired by Amex GBT.
The appointment follows the completion of Long Lake Management’s acquisition of Amex GBT on 29 September. The all-cash transaction valued the company at approximately $6.3bn and takes it into private ownership, with its shares ceasing trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
The deal, announced in May and previously reported by micebook, brings together Long Lake’s AI capabilities with Amex GBT’s travel, expense and meetings and events services. Amex GBT said the combination would accelerate the development of AI-powered customer tools and support for its travel teams.
