Sustainable luxury lifestyle brand 1 Hotels has announced it is now accepting reservations for 1 Hotel Austin, a nature-inspired urban retreat set within the tallest tower in Texas.
With an anticipated opening in August 2026, the property is located at the meeting point of Waller Creek and Lady Bird Lake. The design draws on its waterfront setting, with the building shaped to follow the curve of the creek below.

1 Hotel Austin will feature 252 guest rooms, including 60 luxury suites featuring natural materials such as wood and stone. Public spaces include a light-filled lobby designed to function as both a social and work hub.
Facilities will include more than 930 sq m of indoor and outdoor event space, alongside a 186 sq m fitness centre, yoga studio and a Bamford Wellness Spa outpost, developed in partnership with Carole Bamford.
Dining will be led by chef Johnny Curiel, a James Beard Award nominee, who will head up the hotel’s signature restaurant, Alteño Austin. The concept will focus on Mexican cuisine inspired by Curiel’s roots in Jalisco. A second venue, watr, located on the 16th floor, will offer a Japanese-influenced menu alongside rooftop views over the city and Lady Bird Lake.

Sustainability is woven throughout the guest experience at 1 Hotel Austin and the property is pursuing LEED Gold certification, reinforcing its commitment to responsible design. Initiatives include reduced single-use plastics, filtered in-room water systems and a clothing donation programme supporting local organisations.
Through the brand’s Certified Sustainable Gatherings programme, events minimise environmental impact by prioritising reduced waste, thoughtful sourcing, and responsible operations.
Programming will span wellness activities such as run clubs and sound baths, alongside chef-driven restaurants and rooftop activations.
