PIE Factory has launched tim (Tradeshow Impact Manager), a corporate platform to measure and improve the ESG impact of global trade show campaigns.

Designed by Nick Marks and overseen by event sustainability expert Simon Evans, tim gives companies visibility over the true footprint of exhibitions, and the tools to make sustainability and cost efficiency work hand in hand.

The platform has been adopted by leading brands across multiple sectors with recent sign ups Pernod Ricard, Knight Frank and Dolby, alongside founding partner CBRE.

The global exhibition industry is worth more than $45 billion, yet it remains one of the least-measured marketing channels for ESG. tim is changing that by benchmarking carbon, materials, waste and social impact to help brands make data-driven improvements across every event.

Nick Marks, founder and director of PIE Factory, said: “tim makes the invisible visible. It equips companies with the data to act, proving that more sustainable choices don’t have to cost more – they can save money while protecting brand reputation.”

Simon Evans, sustainability director, added: “We created tim because exhibitions are one of the last ESG blind spots in global marketing. These events consume staggering resources, but their true impact has been almost entirely ignored by reporting frameworks. Built specifically for exhibitions, it benchmarks waste, materials, carbon and wider ESG factors, giving corporate decision makers a clear, actionable view of impact.”

Jill Maxwell, global head of events at CBRE shares her experience: “tim gives us the visibility and clarity we need to make every trade show smarter and more sustainable. It’s a game changer.

“For the first time, we can see the full picture of our environmental and social impact and use that data to make better decisions. It helps us plan more efficiently, cut waste, and embed sustainability into every stage of our events. My teams are using tim across North America, Europe and Asia, and we’re proud to be a founding partner of this important tool.”

tim has also opened its beta programme, giving FTSE 250 and global brands complimentary access in return for contributing anonymised data – creating a collaborative dataset that will inform a forthcoming white paper, Trade Shows 2.0.
