DRPG is launching a Big Build’ charity challenge to mark its 45th anniversary, inviting the wider industry, clients and colleagues to come together for a unique initiative focused on making a tangible difference.
The event will serve as the official kick-off to a year of milestone celebrations for the group, centred around giving back and corporate social responsibility.
The ‘Big Build’ challenge, taking place on 26 November at 2pm GMT, will broadcast live from DRPG’s global headquarters, where participants can watch or join in remotely via their own offices. During this hour-long event, DRPG and those who have registered to take part in teams of four to six will attempt to assemble as many prosthetic hands as possible for charity.
This effort is part of DRPG’s long-standing involvement with the ‘Give a Hand’ charity team-building initiative, a programme delivered by Lightbulb Teams. The Give a Hand programme is specifically aimed to help those in developing countries who have lost a limb. By building prosthetic hands, the group aims to give these people their independence back – allowing them to experience the ‘everyday’ movements taken for granted.
Founded by international corporate speaker and BBC broadcaster, David Meade, Lightbulb Teams’ focus is on creating activities that not only engage teams but also leave a meaningful impact on communities worldwide.
Through the Give A Hand programme, participants work together to build prosthetic hands, which are then donated to individuals in less developed countries with the LN-4 Hand Project, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life. DRPG has been a proud supporter of this initiative for years, using its platform to amplify the programme’s reach and social impact.
David Meade commented: “With the Give A Hand programme, we’ve witnessed the incredible power of building something as vital as a prosthetic limb. It’s not just about creating a physical tool, but about restoring dignity, hope and a sense of possibility for people who’ve lost so much. Partnering with DRPG for its 45th anniversary is deeply meaningful to us, as it allows us to extend this life-changing impact to even more communities. We’re proud to be part of a celebration that truly changes lives.”
DRPG is calling on agencies, venues, creative partners, industry bodies, and the media to participate in this challenge and make a real difference. The event highlights the collective power of the industry in coming together for a global cause.
CEO of DRPG Dale Parmenter added: “For 45 years, DRPG has been at the forefront of creative communications, shaping impactful narratives that drive change for our clients and team members alike. The ‘Big Build’ challenge represents a unique opportunity for all of us in the industry to unite, give back, and celebrate this significant milestone together. I look forward to seeing our creative community unite in this meaningful endeavour, alongside our clients and team, as we embark on an exciting year ahead.”
