New venues have opened, historic properties have re-emerged from major renovations, and several once in a generation projects are now visible on the horizon. For buyers weighing up Switzerland against other premium options, that pace of investment is itself part of the pitch. Here are ten worth having on your radar.
1. CERN Science Gateway, Geneva.
The most eye catching recent opening is this scientific education centre designed by architect Renzo Piano, seating up to 900 and offering something no other Swiss venue can: a genuine link to cutting edge research and technology as a backdrop for an event. Funding came in part from the FCA Foundation, a charitable arm of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, and the building has quickly become a genuine landmark on Geneva’s skyline as well as a functioning venue.
2. memox The Circle, Zurich Airport.
Located right beside the runway, this venue gives planners four flexible meeting rooms and a bistro terrace with direct views of the airfield and adjoining parkland, built for groups who want convenience without sacrificing atmosphere. Spaces flex from as few as two delegates up to 300, with a professional on site team and flexible seating throughout, making it an easy add on for groups routing straight through the airport.
3. Festhalle Bern.
Reopened this April, it offers serious scale, from intimate 100 person meetings up to a 4,000 person concert configuration in its largest hall. That range makes it one of the most flexible large capacity spaces in the country, equally suited to a corporate congress, a product launch, or a full scale live event, all under one roof in the Swiss capital.
4. 2m2c Montreux Music & Convention Centre.
Returning in August 2026 with an 18,000 sqm footprint, a hall for 300 to 900 delegates, and an auditorium that flexes between a 1,650 seat concert and an 800 person gala dinner. A strong option for groups who want lakeside glamour with genuine congress scale infrastructure, particularly for events that want to pair daytime sessions with a statement evening performance or dinner.
5. Fairmont Le Montreux Palace.
Completed its renovation last September, restoring its historic façade alongside 120 lake view rooms, six restaurants and bars, and a 2,000 sqm spa. Built in 1906 and known as the Pearl of the Swiss Riviera, the property now pairs its Belle Époque grandeur with genuinely modern infrastructure, including 14 meeting and banquet rooms able to host up to 1,200 guests, right on the shores of Lake Geneva.
6. Glacier Hotel, Les Diablerets.
Reopened in December with 110 rooms and suites and modular meeting rooms hosting 10 to 100 delegates, a short distance from Gstaad and the Glacier 3000 peak walk. A Maison des Congrès nearby offers even larger meeting space for groups that outgrow the hotel’s own facilities, making it a flexible base for both small executive retreats and bigger Alpine incentive programmes.
7. Me and all Hotel, Flims.
A Hyatt property that opened at the start of last year, pairing conference rooms with a genuinely unusual perk: an on site four screen cinema available for private group screenings or team events. 8. Le Clay, Lavaux.
Opening in the Lavaux vineyards in spring 2027, this is an active lifestyle wellness hotel with 105 rooms, many looking straight out over the Alps and Lake Geneva. 9. Waldhaus Flims.
Reopening in late 2026 or early 2027, this brings back a Belle Époque hotel split across three guest houses, with 143 rooms and suites, four restaurants, three bars, and 14 conference rooms. It already has pedigree to match: a European Health & Spa Award for best hotel spa in Europe, a top three finish at the Swiss Wedding Award, and 14 Gault & Millau points for its fine dining restaurant, Epoca, giving buyers real assurance that the reopened property will land at the same standard as its reputation suggests.
10. Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva.
Undergoing a full renovation ahead of a late 2027/early 2028 reopening, promising more than 400 rooms and elegant suites on the shore of Lake Geneva, including what’s billed as one of Europe’s largest hotel suites at over 1,000 sqm. It’s the furthest out of the ten on this list, but worth flagging to buyers now given how far ahead major incentive and congress bookings are typically planned.
