Last month, our CEO and founder Chetan Shah attended the Australia Next incentive showcase in Cairns. In the third and final chapter of his journey down under, he shares highlights from his post-fam trip to Sydney…

Sydney is a city that dazzles, offering experiences you could easily spend two to three weeks exploring. But even in just two days, I discovered that this vibrant metropolis has a wealth of unique and unforgettable moments to offer. From breathtaking views to thrilling adventures, here are the highlights of our whirlwind journey.

Where We Stayed

We were lucky enough to stay at the stunning InterContinental Sydney, a masterpiece of heritage architecture. The hotel, a converted treasury building, effortlessly combines historic charm with modern luxury. The crowning jewel is the fabulous rooftop bar, which offers sweeping views of the iconic Sydney Harbour and beyond. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.

Getting Around Sydney

One of the most exciting aspects of Sydney is its variety of transport options, each providing a unique perspective of this incredible city.

  • By Boat: We arrived in style, taking a boat transfer from Watsons Bay after landing at the domestic airport. As we cruised towards the city, the first thing that caught our eyes was the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, rising majestically above the glittering water. Arriving by boat is not only a stress-free option that takes care of your luggage, but it also gives you that quintessential Sydney experience straight off the bat.
  • By Harley Davidson: For a thrilling, up-close tour of Sydney’s diverse neighbourhoods, we hopped on Harley Davidsons. Roaring through the Central Business District, Darling Harbour, Potts Point, and the lively Kings Cross, we saw the city from a whole new angle. With our friendly bikers sharing personal stories and tips, it felt like a true local’s introduction to Sydney’s personality and pulse.
  • By Seaplane: Taking to the skies in a seaplane was the perfect way to appreciate Sydney’s sprawling northern beaches and get a taste of the coastal lifestyle that defines the city’s relaxed vibe. The aerial views were simply unforgettable.

Activities You Can’t Miss

  • The Opera House: No visit to Sydney is complete without experiencing the Opera House. Whether it’s a guided tour, attending a private performance, or hosting a reception in one of the unique event spaces, this iconic structure is a must-see.
  • WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo: If you don’t have much time and want to get to experience wildlife unique to the Country this Zoo with a backdrop of Sydney Harbour, the zoo offers more than just an encounter with Australian wildlife—it’s an immersive experience in the natural beauty of the region.
  • Surfing at Bondi Beach: Bondi is not just a beach, it’s an institution. Taking a surfing lesson here connects you with the laid-back culture of Sydney’s beaches and is an exhilarating way to embrace the city’s outdoor lifestyle.
  • Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge: For the adventurous, scaling the Harbour Bridge is a heart-pounding experience that rewards you with panoramic views of the city and the water that surrounds it.

Dining in Style

Sydney’s food scene is vibrant and evolving, with its world-class restaurants and breathtaking views.

  • Café Sydney: Located in the heart of the city, this venue combines incredible views of the harbour with a chic atmosphere and a menu that Sydney locals can’t get enough of. It’s the ideal place to sip on cocktails while watching the sunset over the skyline.
  • Icebergs Dining Room and Bar: Overlooking Bondi Beach, Icebergs is a place where you can truly absorb Sydney’s coastal elegance. Whether you’re watching surfers catch waves or enjoying the fresh seafood, it’s a dining experience that epitomises the Sydney lifestyle.
  • Bennelong at the Opera House: This dining experience is as iconic as the Opera House itself. Inside the architectural marvel, you’re treated to stunning views of the Harbour Bridge while enjoying dishes that celebrate Australia’s finest produce.

In just two days, Sydney revealed its immense potential as a world-class destination for incentives. From the thrill of a Harley ride through the city to the serenity of gazing at Bondi from Icebergs, every moment felt tailored to perfection. Sydney’s blend of natural beauty, iconic landmarks, and sophisticated urban life make it a must for any event planner looking for unforgettable experiences.
