Madame Micebook longs for a trip to fictional Westeros, but meets her match in Northern Ireland…
The epic Game of Thrones may have reached its conclusion but Madame Micebook still longs to visit the Home of the Thrones to explore Westeros and the rugged coastline and historic castles that formed the backdrop to this most epic tale.
Winterfell Castle, or Old Castle Ward, will delight fans of the smash hit series – spot the tree branch where Brienne confronts Starkmen, find the setting where Theon beheads Ser Rodrik and set off in to Whispering Wood.
Luxury boltholes abound so when night falls, Madame Micebook will be checking out The Merchant Hotel, Belfast and the impressive 300-roomed Grand Central Hotel, Northern Ireland’s largest hotel and a credible option for meeting planners. On site space includes two conference suites plus the Panorama Lounge for receptions of up to 100 guests.
Next up is an overnight at Marriott’s AC Hotel at City Quays, a £26 million property dominated by the first restaurant operated by the multi-Michelin-starred celebrity chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli in Ireland. The four-star property features 188 rooms plus an enviable location on Belfast’s waterfront.
The final stop must be the much-lauded newly extended Belfast Waterfront centre, now known as the ICC Belfast.
